For you coffee addicts…
Friday, den 6. April 2012Coffee is an important factor in any (busy) person’s day, whether in the morning, or during the day when you just need that extra “oomph”.
The ugly truth is, it’s not always possible to get a decent cup everywhere. That’s where instant coffee comes in as the perfect solution – but not just any one…
The Nescafe Instant Coffee Straw makes life easier for those of you who do not have a moment to waste but NEED their coffee!
The coolest gadget!
Tuesday, den 13. March 2012Technology these days never seems to surprise our younger generation who came into the world pretty unaware of how life was without the latest smartphone, computer or even car. I’m one of them. You can try to imagine it, but life as it is in the 21st Century seems to have no technological boundaries when it comes to electronic gadgets.
I remember getting frustrating when trying to teach my grandmother how to send a simple text message, or even setting up a Facebook account for my Mum (who’s now an addict btw) while she posed numerous questions.
I came across the “virtual keyboard” idea a few years back, before the iPhone and iPad releases and kind of saw it as a pointless creation.
I am now an Apple gadget lover, and after having seen the latest virtual keyboard advertised I feel I NEED one.
Super Bowl : Apple had it easy
Friday, den 10. February 2012So I found out what the “Super Bowl” is this year. Saying that to an English person would provoke the question “what is it?”, which for an American is a weird prospect, seeing that this nationally infamous game held once a year on “Super Bowl Sunday” is “up there” with celebrations like Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter.
The Super Bowl is one of the most watched sporting events worldwide with an average annual viewing count of 100,000,000 people each year.
So coming to the point, one can imagine the advertising opportunities during this event, which can typically cost millions of dollars – and that just for a minute window.
In an effortless and cost-free marketing attempt, it seems Apple’s iPhone acheived the most exposure. Take a look at the following video showing the delivery of the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Retro-up your iPhone
Friday, den 3. February 2012What with the development in technology over the past two decades, not many people remember the cassette days, especially not the younger generation. Back in the day, cassettes were the “in” way of listening to our favourite tracks, at home or on the move. An iPhone of course gains it’s owners access to a wide range of technological possibilities other than just music. This is what makes this case so great – the double glance effect…
Anything to declare?
Thursday, den 30. June 2011The summer campaign from Gillette
Tuesday, den 28. June 2011Body hair was sexy in the 80s, at least on men. Stars such as Tom Selleck and Sean Connery distinguished themselves with a thick fur. Yet at some point the trend fizzled out and many people found body hair disgusting by the end of the 90s at the latest. Therefore it gets epilated, shaved and waxed in order to remove the undesired growth.
Murder in the Bathroom?
Thursday, den 16. June 2011When I first saw the following gadget, I immediately thought of Alfred Hitchcock’s ‘Psycho’. In one of the most famous scenes in film history, psychopath Norman Bates stabs a young woman in the shower. However, even without knowing this, the shower curtain with its gruesome blood trail is effective.
When two (companies) quarrel, a third rejoices
Monday, den 13. June 2011There is a lot of fun in advertising when two companies duel. In the course of this, it does not have to come to an epic conflict like the one between Pepsi and Coca-Cola. Sometimes little digs against the competitor are enough. A successful example of this is a huge billboard from BMW, which was set up directly next to an Audi billboard. This has been smugly commented on in American blogs: Audi got owned!
Garmin advertises sports clothing using WW2
Saturday, den 11. June 2011Not just since the death of Bin Laden has it been known that the Americans think more in a martial sense than Europeans. In this respect, it is not surprising that Garmin has produced an advertising clip for sport appliances, referencing war. For European viewers it is definitely difficult to understand how a soldier and a runner can be virtually placed on the same level.
